Small Quantity Generator ReNotification

As a result of the 2016 Hazardous Waste Generators Improvements Rule , Small Quantity Generators of Hazardous Waste are required  to re-notify the EPA of their hazardous waste activities every four years. SQGs are categorized as facilities that generate more than 100 kilograms (approximately 220 pounds), but less than 1,000 kilograms (approximately 2,200 pounds), of hazardous waste per month.

The first re-notification is due by September 1, 2021, and then every four years thereafter. To notify the EPA, SQGs must complete and submit the (RCRA) Subtitle C Activities form in full, also known as EPA Form 8700-12, or state equivalent. This re-notification requirement is only in effect for SQG generators located in states that have adopted the Hazardous Waste Generator Improvement Rule (HWGIR).
