EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED

On a project any number of things can occur that are unpredictable, which demonstrates the adage known as Murphy's Law: "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong". The key is to be prepared for the unknown and WTS stands ready for whatever may happen. The knowledge and experience of our team helps us adapt without disruption to projects. At a sample site, WTS was able to modify our plan and react to immense changes in the volumes of materials we were tasked with handling. Initially WTS was retained to manage 4,000 tons of dry solids for one raw material substitution and 2 million gallons of gel for off-site reclamation. In the end, due to a variety of factors WTS managed 10,000 tons of wet solids through two different raw material substitutions and 10 million gallons of gel for off-site reclamation.

During the project, issues arose and WTS identified and implemented solutions in a timely and effective manner, which meant the horizontal directional drilling rig never stopped due to by-product management activities. Some of these issues include:

Naturally occurring arsenic requiring negotiation with the New Jersey DEP

A sudden  increase in liquids volumes from 2 truckloads per day to as many as 45 truckloads per day with no stoppage of drilling

A change in solids makeup requiring a second raw material substitution

The mobilization of additional transportation and reclamation facility resources due to a significant increase of volumes of material produced.
